Maurice Lacroix once more embraces the urban environment, drawing inspiration from towering architectural structures that define a city’s distinctive skyline. Utilizing diverse materials, beam-type designs provide both strength and a welcoming conduit for natural light to grace interior spaces. A few years back, the Franches Montagnes brand introduced the AIKON Urban Tribe, a swiftly sold-out model. Now, with great excitement, Maurice Lacroix unveils a new audacious creation: a skeleton version of the Urban Tribe design, continuing to pay homage to urban aesthetics.
During 2021, Maurice Lacroix launched the AIKON Urban Tribe, a timepiece tailored for urban residents that quickly became a sold-out sensation. Now, the Maison aims to recreate this triumph by introducing the AIKON Skeleton Urban Tribe, a fresh urban-themed watch. Once more, the design pays tribute to urban architecture, this time with a sapphire dial that unveils the movement’s intricate inner workings.
Reaching New Heights
Maurice Lacroix collaborated closely with movement specialist Sellita to craft the exclusive Automatic ML115 (based on SW200). Much like captivating architectural structures, this movement employs transparency, enabling light to traverse through different apertures and illuminate various components. The oscillating weight is uniquely adorned with sandblasted and sunbrushed embellishments, while circular graining and spirals enhance the movement’s sophistication.
Inspired By Steel, Concrete & Glass Structures
The Maurice Lacroix Aikon Skeleton Urban Tribe showcases meticulous styling, featuring Super-LumiNova®-lined facetted hour and minute hands, along with luminescent indexes and a dark grey flange framing the dial. Encased in a 39mm stainless steel case, the watch’s exterior is adorned with an intricate laser-engraved motif inspired by the defining concrete, glass, and steel structures of vibrant global cities.
Designed with wearer comfort in mind, the watch comes with an integrated bracelet, a characteristic shared with all AIKON models. Additionally, it incorporates the company’s Easy Strap Exchange System, allowing for effortless swapping of straps without requiring any tools.

This is not a subtle or understated watch. The hands are facetted and lined with Super-LumiNova®, while the skeletal dial is framed with luminescent indexes and a dark grey flange and are really quite exquisite. The indices, floating above the movement and are bold and precise. The eye candy has to be the case and bracelet, looking like it’s been honed from another time. Like ancient carving on a totem pole or from an undiscovered Inca tribe, the markings are defined and look like they’re telling a story from the past. In fact the laser engravings pay homage to industry influences, glass, concrete and steel structures which have come to define the avenues and boulevards populating the world’s most vibrant cities. Make no mistake, this is a cracking looking watch, Maurice Lacroix have done exceptionally well with this one!
