JustChrono.com : A New Tool for Watch Collectors to Navigate the Community
If you’re after one place to properly nerd out, we’re talking data, news, events, deals, the lot, then JustChrono is probably worth a bookmark. Stick it in your favourites and thank yourself later. It’s not trying to be another marketplace, and it’s not just shouting headlines at you either. It feels more like a central hub. Something that pulls together all the moving parts of the watch world and makes them easier to follow. Events, people, deals, brands… all under one roof. If you enjoy the social side of collecting, it’s a very neat idea.
JustChrono comes from Darren Sher, who you might recognise as the founder of Sher Watches. Add in a background in tech and software engineering, plus co hosting duties on That Watch Podcast, and you do start to wonder when he sleeps. He’s not doing it alone though. There’s a silent partner involved with experience in brand building and, crucially, another proper watch enthusiast.
One of the best things about this hobby is how quickly it stops being a solo thing. You start off casually browsing, maybe telling yourself it’s just a passing interest… and before long you’re deep in conversations, events, and group chats that never really go quiet. Because collecting isn’t just about watches. It’s about people. The chats at events, finally meeting a founder you’ve followed for years, or just dumping watches on a table with like minded idiots and losing track of time. The calendar fills up pretty quickly.
JustChrono leans into that. At one level, it works as a global directory for watch events. Fairs, auctions, brand showcases, collector meetups, all laid out on an interactive calendar or map. It takes a lot of the guesswork out of planning what you’re doing and when.
And realistically, events are where the hobby really clicks. British Watchmakers’ Day, Wind Up, local meetups… these are the moments you actually connect with the watches and the people behind them. You get hands on, have proper conversations, and meet collectors who are just as far down the rabbit hole as you are. Having all of that in one place just makes sense.
One feature that stands out is the ability to track where brands will be exhibiting. Sounds simple, but it’s genuinely useful. If you’ve ever tried working out where a small independent brand might show up next, you’ll know it’s not always obvious. This makes it easy to plan ahead. It also gives smaller brands a bit more visibility, which is no bad thing when events are often where people discover them.
Then there’s the private meetup organiser, which feels like it was built by someone who’s clearly been through the pain of organising these things before. You can set up invite only events, share a private link, and let everyone drop in their availability. It then works out the best option.
No endless messages. No chaos in WhatsApp. No one replying a week later with “I might be free”. It just works.
There’s also a Dealers & Deals section pulling in listings from trusted retailers and dealers. Everything is live, fed directly from their Shopify setups, so you’re not looking at stale listings. Filters cover all the usual things, brand, model, size, era, location, even preferred dealers, and once you find something, you go straight through to the seller. JustChrono stays out of the transaction, which feels like the right approach.
On the dealer side, there’s a proper back end too. Analytics, product performance, engagement data, even the ability to feature certain pieces. The sort of information that used to be quite hard to get hold of is now front and centre, especially useful for anyone paying attention to trends.
The News section pulls together articles from across the watch space into a rolling 14 day feed. You can save what you like and build your own stream, which is ideal if you’re tired of bouncing between different sites.
Step back and it all adds up. The watch world has shifted a lot over the years. What used to revolve around retailers and print now lives online and at events. Forums, Instagram, meetups… that’s where things actually happen.
Once you’ve got a free account set up, the experience becomes a lot more personal. You can tailor everything around the brands, dealers, and events you actually care about. It starts to feel less like browsing and more like having your own dashboard for the hobby. There’s even a profile section where you can see and tweak what JustChrono thinks you’re into based on your activity, with a “My Feed” page pulling it all together.
There’s a bit offun in there too. A tongue in cheek game that basically checks if you’re too drunk to buy a watch. A few quick challenges might be exactly what you need before committing to that late night purchase. Not that it’ll stop most of us, but still…
One of the more interesting sections is Insights, specifically The Watch Pulse. This dives into data from across collectors, dealers, and media. Pick a time frame and you start to see patterns emerge. Popular brands, dial colours, movement preferences, case sizes… it goes deep. If you enjoy the data side of watches, you’ll get stuck in here for a while.
JustChrono isn’t trying to replace media, marketplaces, or forums. It doesn’t need to. It sits alongside them, acting as a bit of an organiser for everything else. And that’s probably where it works best.
Because at the end of the day, watches might be what pull you in, but it’s the people that keep you here. This just makes it easier to find them, meet them, and spend less time endlessly scrolling, and more time actually enjoying the hobby.
