Arnold & Son x Chronopassion - Double Tourbillon “Landscape”

Arnold & Son x Chronopassion: A Dialogue in Time — The Double Tourbillon “Landscape”

This is not just a watch. It is a conversation — a meeting point between two worlds defined by precision, audacity, and an unrelenting obsession with detail. On one side stands Chronopassion, the Parisian horological provocateur with a legacy of curating the extraordinary since 1988. On the other, Arnold & Son, the British-rooted manufacture renowned for its technical elegance and marine chronometry heritage. Together, they’ve created something rare, sculptural, and mechanical: the Double Tourbillon “Landscape.

A Vision Reflected in Stone and Steel

Two flying tourbillons appear suspended in space, each anchored by mirror-polished solid gold bridges. Above them, two symmetrical dials in pure white opal offer dual readings of time — local and home — side by side, like pages turned in sync. Enveloping this architecture is a 43.5mm white gold case, polished to capture and shape the light from every angle.

But the pièce de résistance is the landscape jasper dial — a mineral canvas selected by Chronopassion, whose desert-like strata evoke the horizon lines of distant lands or surreal dreamscapes. Paired with a beige alligator strap, the watch becomes a tonal, earthy composition that speaks of poetry as much as precision.

Two Voices. One Movement.

The Double Tourbillon “Landscape” doesn’t just speak in design — it sings in function. Each dial represents an independent time zone, adjustable to the minute — a rare feature in high horology. Roman numerals at 12 o’clock indicate local time, while Arabic numerals at 6 o’clock show home time. Two crowns serve distinct purposes: the first at 2 o’clock for winding and setting, the second at 7 o’clock for adjusting the second time zone.

This independent timekeeping architecture is a nod to John Arnold’s pioneering legacy in marine chronometry, allowing seafarers of old to calculate longitude — and now, travelers of today to master multiple time zones with elegance.

Mechanical Excellence, Elevated

Powering the watch is the A\&S8513 calibre, a hand-finished mechanical marvel built entirely in-house by Arnold & Son. It features:

*Two gear trains and two barrels, delivering an impressive 90-hour power reserve

* Twin flying tourbillons suspended on sculptural, multi-angled bridges in solid gold

* Immaculate finishes: Côtes de Genève, circular graining, polished chatons, and satin-finished bevels

* A beautifully exaggerated oversized pawl, transforming utility into visual drama

Every element of this movement is a tribute to expressive watchmaking — where every surface, every screw, every line is both functional and ornamental.

Chronopassion at the Core

What sets this piece apart is not just its complexity — but its character. The mineral artistry of the dial, the daring asymmetry, the defiant design choices — all reflect Chronopassion’s nonconformist DNA. The unpredictable textures of landscape jasper make every piece unique, each one a geological fingerprint frozen in time.

This isn’t merely a timepiece. The Double Tourbillon “Landscape” is a horological sculpture, a bridge between two houses that refuse to play by the rules — and invite the collector to do the same.
