Inspired From The Past, Built For The Future
The Bristol-based watchmaker has expanded its lineup with the introduction of the Arnos collection, a timepiece series deeply rooted in heritage. Leading the charge is the Arnos in Pewter Blue, a model that pays homage to the brand’s early designs—drawing inspiration from the elegantly slender watches of the 1920s and 1930s.
Staying true to tradition, Fears continues to name its core collections after significant locations in Bristol, each holding a special connection to the brand’s story. Arnos Vale, the namesake of this new collection, is not only home to the company’s present-day headquarters but also serves as the final resting place of both its founder, Edwin Fear, and his son and successor, Amos Daniel Fear—a poignant link between past and present.
Born In Bristol, Built To Last
The Arnos Pewter Blue marks the debut of Fears’ latest collection, embracing a modern aesthetic with a bold, angular case profile. Drawing from the brand’s extensive archive of elegantly elongated timepieces, this new design reinterprets a classic silhouette with contemporary flair.
Its refined rectangular case, sculpted for comfort, frames a dial that masterfully plays with depth and contrast. A rich blue circular center is set within a sleek grey rectangle, accentuated by a textured hobnail outer ring in lustrous Rhodium and a recessed inner dial adorned with a concentric galvanic blue finish. Making its first appearance in a modern Fears timepiece, contemporary Roman numerals add a sophisticated touch, while the distinctive ‘Fears pipette’ hands—meticulously faceted and Rhodium-plated—enhance readability.
A Modern Elegant Vibe
Inside, precision meets craftsmanship with a Swiss-made Sellita SW1000 automatic movement, customised with a striking Fears Blue rotor etched with Bristol’s floral emblem. Offering a 46-hour power reserve, this calibre is a testament to refined minimalism, displaying only the hours and minutes for a pure, uncluttered look.
The Arnos Pewter Blue arrives with two meticulously crafted straps from Delugs, tailored specifically for this model:
– A supple Taupe Barenia leather strap, featuring hand-stitched edges for an understated, elegant profile, secured with a bespoke Fears pin buckle.
– A deep blue FKM rubber strap, engineered for versatility, paired with a curved butterfly clasp equipped with micro-adjustment and an engraved Fears cypher, balancing sportiness with sophistication.
