The Eska Watch Company arose at the end of World War One, to take advantage of the sudden upsurge in demand for wristwatches. Royce was one of their brands, which was established in 1918 by S & E Kocher in Grenchen, Switzerland.
This is the Leadership 600. The dimensions are diameter 36mm, lug to lug of 41mm, lug width 20mm and height 12mm. It sits very comfortable on the wrist and has a nice presence.
The dial is flat black dial with, silver baton indices and a set of striking silver hands. The contrasting and unusual curved day window, sits at 12.00, whilst the date complication is set at 3.00. The gold rotating bezel has numbered markets at 3, 6 & 9 has worn through to the base metal, probably brass.
Running this, is the Felsa 4006 with a 44 hour power reserve.
Mark: I must admit, Royce is one of many brands that I only discovered until fairly recently. Although the bezel has a fair amount of wear, it provide a real sense of warmth to the watch. What I really like is the curved day window as it contrasts well with the black dial and silver hands.
