BiTempo Luminor
The Luminor Quaranta collection expertly balances heritage and modern innovation, perfectly tailored to meet the needs of today’s discerning clientele. This series captures the beloved aesthetic of the traditional Luminor lineup but in a more compact case size. The latest addition, the Luminor Quaranta™ BiTempo Goldtech PAM01641, enhances the collection further by introducing a GMT function encased in a luxurious and precious material, Goldtech™.
Panerai Goldtech™ is a proprietary alloy developed by the Maison, combining gold with platinum and copper. This unique blend gives the material a distinctive red hue and excellent resistance to tarnishing, thereby enhancing the longevity and durability of the timepiece.
Touched By King Midas
The Luminor Quaranta™ BiTempo, housed in a 40mm brushed Panerai Goldtech™ case, is powered by the automatic P.900/GMT calibre. Known for its reliability, the P.900 boasts a 3-day power reserve. This movement integrates comprehensive functionality within its sleek dimensions. At 12½ lignes (28mm) in diameter and just 4.2 mm thick, it stands as one of the slimmest automatic calibres in Panerai’s portfolio.
The Luminor Quaranta™ BiTempo’s P.900/GMT calibre stores a power reserve of three days through a bidirectional oscillating weight, which channels energy into a single barrel.
The movement’s balance wheel, which vibrates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, is anchored securely by a balance cock, ensuring stability and precision.
This calibre includes a stop-second function, facilitating exact time-setting. Additionally, its GMT complication, presented with a 12-hour display, harks back to Panerai’s heritage, reminiscent of some of the earliest models from the early 2000s. This feature enhances the watch’s practicality, particularly for those who need to keep track of multiple time zones, blending historical design elements with modern functionality.
A Stunning Smaller Case
The GMT hand of the Luminor Quaranta™ BiTempo is tipped with a blue gilding that glows in low-light conditions, enhancing both legibility and aesthetic appeal. This feature is complemented by an enlarged, more prominent date display, improving readability. In line with Panerai’s dedication to honouring its heritage, the timepiece incorporates a discreet minuterie inspired by models from the early 2000s. Signature elements such as the cushion-shaped case and the iconic crown-protecting bridge, which guarantees water resistance up to 10 bar (~100 meters), firmly root the watch within the distinguished Luminor line. The inscription “BiTempo” at 6 o’clock, meaning “dual time” in Italian, underscores the Maison’s Italian heritage.
The latest model boasts a sun-brushed black sandwich dial with white Super-LumiNova®, ensuring excellent visibility. The see-through sapphire crystal and Panerai Goldtech™ case back reveal the intricate workings of the watch. The timepiece is paired with a black alligator leather strap featuring T/T stitching and a brushed Panerai Goldtech™ trapezoidal buckle. Additionally, the PAM Click Release System™ allows for effortless switching between the leather strap and the second provided black rubber strap, offering versatility and style.
